Life Coaching vs. Therapy
It is quite hard for many people to tell the difference between life coaching and therapy; thus they find it confusing to choose the best route to follow when trying to seek help.
Life coaching: Life coaches exist so that you can improve or achieve greater success in any area of your life. Life coaching helps you to make your dream a reality.
Coaches don’t diagnose illnesses or help their clients explore emotional or mental patterns. If you want to achieve a specific goal, whether in your life, career, or relationship, meet a life coach. Coaches provide clarity and actionable plans to help you work towards positive outcomes. In simpler terms, life coaches focus on “how” you can achieve your goals.
Therapy: Unlike life coaches, therapists are focused on helping their clients to explore and understand their unconscious and subconscious mind. They give you a deeper understanding of the emotional predicaments and addictive behaviors which you may struggle.
For instance, someone feeling hopeless and trapped or battling with depression, anxiety, self-doubt, phobias, trauma would benefit from a therapist. Such a person would have trouble making positive changes in their lives until they are emotionally stable and have overcome their hopelessness.
In simpler terms, therapists focus on “why” an individual behaves the way they do and then provide support and guidance on how such an individual can overcome the situation.
